Pre Race: Boogieville is always a good race for me, seeing as it is only 40 minutes from my house, and I get to ride their more than most people. We went out Saturday afternoon to do the annual tough man race, and I surprising ended up winning that and getting some extra cash. We drove home, got the bike washed and prepped, and then got a good night sleep. We got back to the track Sunday morning, and it looked really good. I was preparing for perfect conditions. I was ready to go!
Race: I practiced a lot of starts before the start, and thought I had it down pat, but apparently I didn’t. I choked when it mattered, and was dead last rounding the first turn. I was very aggressive the next couple turns, and went into the woods in 2nd behind another local, Parker Nolan. I was not able to get around him until very close to the end of the lap. Once I got past him, I put my head down and pushed hard trying to open up a descent gap before my pit. I did just that and had about a minute lead on Bryan Vaughan at the pit. I pushed the rest of the race and ended up with 1st overall and 2 minutes ahead of 2nd place, Bryan Vaughan. Everything worked great on my new KTM this weekend! I would like to specially thank Richard Wilson from House of Horsepower for the help with my jetting this weekend. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to dirt bike jetting and suspension.
