Zach Ingram
AHSCS Round 8
Vilonia, Arkansas
Pre Race: Labor day weekend is always a fun one for the Ingram family, and this one was nothing different. My mom’s birthday was Sunday so on Saturday we headed to the lake to
relax and enjoy the weather. Sunday morning we headed to the race where I was
expecting a good day. The track was really dusty but everyone said it flowed
really well, and was going to be fun. I was ready to go!
Race: I got a good jump off the line, and went into the woods with the lead. I didn’t do a
practice lap, so I was having some trouble reading the fast trails. The first
couple of laps I rode behind Bryan Vaughan, not able to pass because of the
dust. I went down pretty hard, at high speeds, and that really scared me. At
that point I thought I was going to have to settle for a 2nd, and just finish
the race. Starting the fourth lap, Vaughan pitted and I was able to get by. I
put my head down and charged from there. I was able to ride smooth the next
three laps, and finish with a solid lead. I had a good time being back at the
harescrambles again this weekend. I know my mom had a good birthday, with Jake
winning B Open, and me getting the overall win. Next weekend we get back to the
Black Jack Enduros after the summer break.
Results (overall):
