Black Jack Enduro Round 3

Zach Ingram Black Jack Enduro Round 3

Park Hills, Missouri

May 1, 2011

Pre Race: We arrived at the race Saturday afternoon expecting very muddy conditions considering it had rained 12 inches there the week leading to the event. Turned out the place soaked up and drained most of the water off and we were looking at great conditions. This race would be the first time I had participated in any physical activity in the past couple of weeks due to the “mono” I had. I was still planning on going out and giving it my all. We got everything ready for the next day and were ready to race!

Race: The first test was through the “park” so it was four wheeler trails that were a little slick and sketchy. I missed a few blind turns, and didn’t feel very good through there. The second test was more fun. We rode some good single track along with fast sand sections. Next was the first gas. We quickly filled with gas, got fresh Smith goggles, and a bite to eat. The third and fourth tests were great flowing single track. I rode well and had a blast through there. The fifth test was the “motocrossers” test in the sand around camp. I did well and loved that test. The sixth and final test was about half of the fun single track we were used to, and then half really nasty, rocky sections. I finished the day very tired but all in one piece. They ended up throwing out the first test which bumped me back to third. All in all, I was happy with my ride considering my condition, and now can’t wait for the next National Enduro in our home state of Arkansas.
