Zach Ingram Black Jack Enduro Round 5

Pre Race: We arrived at the race Saturday evening just in time to pick up our numbers and check everything out. It looked like it was going to be very dusty so we were
all praying for some rain. We ended up getting exactly that, but a whole lot
more than what we were wanting. When we woke up everything was pretty wet, so
we started preparing for a muddy day. Unfortunately the club hosting the race
decided the trails were to wet to race on, so they pushed back the start to 11 o’clock
and we would ride 3 loops all consisting of one test. I wasn’t to disappointed
because now I wouldn’t have to use my computer and it would be a true test of
the fastest rider. I was ready to go!
Race: The first test was pretty short and I felt good through there besides a little arm
pump toward the end. Dale Rector ended up beating me by 2 seconds in that one.
The second test was the same as the first but they added a couple miles of
tight single track at the end. I rode great and won that one. The third test
was the same as the second with a few more miles added. I rode very smooth and
consistent giving me the win in that test and the overall for the day. I was
very happy with my ride, and really had a good time doing it. I can’t wait for
the national next weekend in Wyoming!
