Black Jack Enduro Round 6

Pre-Race: My dad, Jake, and I headed west Saturday afternoon to the sixth round of the Black Jack Enduro series. I was looking forward to the event because I had never been
there, and it was going to be a restart format. We had to do some bike work to
Jakes new 200 when we got there, but once that was done we were ready to get a
good night’s rest before the 8 a.m. start time.
Race: We started with a 7 mile test. It was very dry and dusty, but other than that the
trails were really fun. The second test was even more fun. Tight off-camber
trails, then a couple miles of fast grass track to finish the first loop. The
third test was pretty tough, as it was littered with rocks. I fought through
there and was feeling good. The fourth was the same as the second, and once again
I rode well. Next was the gas. I filled up, and put in a fresh Silkolene oiled
air filter. The fifth test was by far the hardest of the day. Twelve miles of
the very rocky, and somewhat hilly terrain. I finished the last test with a solid
ride to take the overall win. I managed to win every test today, which feels
pretty good. I believe I am well on the way to getting the championship this
year. Jake and my dad both finished well, both finishing in the top 10! Special thanks to Andy Stevens (Yellowwood photography) for the great picture, and little interview after the race. We are now looking forward to the National in Indiana coming up.
