Hillbilly GP Round 2

Pre Race: We had a busy weekend, with football Friday night, OSU college visit Saturday, then to Missouri for the race on Sunday. We went to this race last year, and I did pretty well, so we decided to go back. I rode a practice lap, and was ready to race.

Race: I got a good start, 2nd behind Zack Neil. I followed him for a mile or so, and then managed to get around him as we took different lines in a tight section of woods. Once I was in the lead, I pushed, and was able to put 25 seconds on Neil on the first lap. I rode smooth and consistent the next 3 laps, maintaining about a 30 second lead. On the 5th lap, the lappers started to get really bad, and I knew I was losing time fast. Zack Neil caught and passed me about halfway through that lap. I knew I could keep up with him, so my plan was to do that and try to make something happen toward the end. I followed him the rest of the lap, and then going into the last lap, I was ready to go for it. We battled hard the last lap, and I was able to get around him about a mile from the finish. I pinned it to the end, and ended up with the overall victory. I want to thank the Hillbilly staff for putting on a great race. Everything on the new KTM worked awesome today. I wouln’t have wanted to be riding any other bike. Thanks for reading.
