MORE Round 3

Zach Ingram MORE Round 3

Argyle, Missouri

July 24, 2011

Pre Race: This weekend I was invited to come up to Missouri and stay with the Henslee’s. I jumped on the opportunity as I was really wanting to race somewhere this
weekend. We headed out early Sunday morning from their house in Nixa, and
arrived at the race just in time for practice. It rained quite a bit on the way
up there and everyone was saying the track would be perfect. Practice went well
with a few slick spots here and there, but overall I was expecting a good race.

Race: The MORE series does a live engine start. I wasn’t sure if I was for or against that
seeing as I have never really done that before. I got a really bad jump off the
line but was able to work my way around a few guys before we got to the woods.
I settled in behind Caleb Wohletz and Kole Henslee. On the first lap I thought
we were going pretty slow, but I was content with it because I knew it was
going to be a long and hot day. We all three rode together the first two laps
until Kole went to pass me in a creek and went down hard. At that point Me and
Caleb had a little gap on him. On the third lap Wholetz stalled his bike and I
was able to get around him. I knew this was my chance to get away so I went for
it. I got away to where I couldn’t hear him anymore and just tried to ride my
own race. On the fourth lap I started to hear him coming so I picked it up a
little bit. The fifth lap I started to fatigue pretty hard. Going into the last
lap Mr. Henslee and Steve Leivan waved me down for gas. They said I had a solid
lead and needed just a splash of gas. I finished that last lap with a good ride
and a solid overall win. This was only my 2nd harescramble to do this year, and
the two hours really got to me. Overall, I’m really happy with my day. Special
thanks to the Henslee’s for hauling me around this weekend, and the whole MORE
crew for putting on a good race.
